Feel free to pray the following Scripture-based prayers of confirmation for when you need that personal word from the Lord...
Major life decisions include career choices, relocation, marriage, education, or financial investments. One might seek a confirmation from the Lord when other options seem equally viable. Here is a prayer of confirmation:
Dear Lord, I am faced with this major decision in my life. I am not sure what to do. However, I look to You for guidance, direction, wisdom, and clarity. I look to You for some sort of sign or confirmation it says in Your Word, Your sheep hear your voice. You say in Your Word that You speak in a still, small, voice, which implies an atmosphere of quiet reflection. Help me set aside that time to meet with You and to listen to what it is You are telling me...in Jesus' Name, Amen!

O Lord, I come before You asking for a confirmation regarding gifts and talents You have given me. I pray that I would know Your plan for my life when it comes to service for You and Your Kingdom. You say in Your Word that it's to Your Father's glory that I bear much fruit, and that apart from You, I can do nothing. So, I confess that I need You in my life to work in me. I need Your Holy Spirit to help me bear fruit, so others will embrace Your gift of salvation. Thank You for the gift of being in a relationship with You, and for the work of Your Holy Spirit in the lives of Your people...in Jesus' Name, amen!

This prayer is for those looking for comfort during feelings of loneliness, discouragement or abandonment--seeking reassurance of God’s closeness in difficult seasons.
Dear Lord, I come before You seeking reassurance of Your presence and closeness. You say in Psalm 46 that You are my refuge and strength, One who is a very present help in times of trouble. You also promise that You will never leave me nor forsake me. All throughout Scripture, You showed Your faithfulness in the lives of those who were enduring various trials, including King David, Job, and the Apostle Paul. You were also an encouragement to Jeremiah the prophet, who experienced feelings of depression. May You reveal Yourself to me as well in this difficult time and minister to my heart...in Jesus' Name, amen!

Pray this prayer if you need confirmation due to a crisis of faith or feelings of doubt about beliefs regarding God...
Heavenly Father,
In this moment of doubt and uncertainty, I come before You, seeking Your presence and clarity. I feel shaken, Lord, questioning what I once believed so firmly about You. Yet, I know You are not far from the brokenhearted, and You do not turn away from those who seek You with honest hearts.
Strengthen my faith, O Lord, as I ask for Your truth to be made evident. Remind me that You are the same yesterday, today, and forever, and that Your promises never fail. When the shadows of doubt loom large, shine the light of Your Word into my heart, for Your Word is truth.
Help me, like the father who brought his son to Jesus, to pray, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief” (Mark 9:24). Let Your Spirit guide me into all truth, affirming Your goodness and faithfulness even in my struggles.
Lord, I cast my anxieties and uncertainties on You, knowing You care for me. Grant me peace that surpasses all understanding as I seek answers in Your presence. Surround me with wise and godly counsel, and lead me to Scriptures that confirm Your love and purpose for my life.
Thank You for being patient with my questions and merciful in my doubts. Anchor my soul in the hope of Christ, who is the cornerstone of my faith. Let this season of struggle deepen my relationship with You and strengthen my trust in Your unchanging nature.
In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

Seeking clarity or assurance in resolving personal or interpersonal conflicts
Asking for guidance on handling adversity or spiritual warfare:
Heavenly Father,
You are the God of peace and wisdom, the One who holds all understanding in Your hands. I come before You today seeking clarity and assurance as I navigate this season of conflict and challenge. Your Word reminds me that You are not the author of confusion but of peace, and I pray that You would grant me a spirit of discernment to see the path You have prepared for me. May Your Word be a lamp to my feet and a light to my path as I seek to honor You in all that I do.
Lord, when my heart is heavy with uncertainty, remind me of Your promise in James 1:5, that if I lack wisdom, I can ask You, and You will give it generously without finding fault. I lay my concerns at Your feet, casting all my cares on You because You care for me. Strengthen me with Your Spirit, that I may respond with humility, patience, and love in every interaction, reflecting the grace You have shown me.
In the midst of adversity and spiritual warfare, I stand on the assurance of Your presence. You have said that no weapon formed against me shall prosper and that greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world. Equip me with the full armor of God—truth, righteousness, faith, salvation, and Your Word —that I may stand firm against the schemes of the enemy. Help me to remember that the battle is not mine but Yours, and that You will fight for me as I remain still before You.
Father, as I walk through these challenges, I ask for Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Let Your presence be my comfort and guide, and may everything I do bring glory to Your name. In Jesus' mighty name, I pray. Amen.
